Alvan D. Babb graduated from the University of Liverpool with Upper Second Class Honours and also graduated from The Manchester Metropolitan University having successfully completed the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) and obtained a Diploma in Legal Practice At The Bar. Mr. Babb was called to the Bar in England and Wales as a Member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London. Mr. Babb also attended the Norman Manley Law School where he successfully completed the Six Month Transition Course. Mr. Babb is called to the Bar in Barbados and in Jamaica. Mr. Babb practices various areas of law including Civil Law, Family Law, Employment Law, Landlord & Tenant Law, Conveyancing, Personal Injury. Mr. Babb also specialises in Criminal Law having served as a police officer approximately twelve years in Barbados and the Cayman Islands and after his call to the Bar as an Attorney-at-Law, he worked as a State Prosecutor at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Kingston, Jamaica. Mr. Babb is also the Principal Mediator at Barbados Mediation Services.

Mr. Babb is also a trained professional Mediator having successfully completed Basic and Advanced Training at the Dispute Resolution Foundation, Kingston, Jamaica in 2010. Mr. Babb as a Mediation Trainer, trained Mediators for enlistment on the list of Mediators for the Supreme Court of Barbados Court Annexed Mediation Pilot Project and was very instrumental in the planning and implementation of the newly launched project. He is the founder and Principal Mediator at Barbados Mediation Services which is the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) arm of Babb, Bryan & Associates, Attorneys-at-Law.
